This show is kick ass! What a great New Years show! I am not a RRE veteran by any means, but I like what I hear in this show. Great sound quality and super playing. Thank you for the sweet download!

Miracle on South Street
Way to close out 2005. What a powerful setlist!! Nice tight solos - amazingly crisp chop chords from John on Dandelion Wine. 7SM had huge, sweeping highs and lows, almost like an anthem - listen to Grubb take over at around 11:11 - and then winds down to a perfect, quiet close, amazing to hear the audience quiet down as the volume drops. Great harmonies in Crossing the Gap. Amazing mando and fiddle in Wheel, crying like lone coyotes on a crisp winter night. Missed 2006 by about a minute and a half who cares? (So why mention it, right?) Got to see Andy play two saxophones at once very cool. Nice extended jams in Im A Mess, it was like the P-Funk All Stars were riding the Railroad tonight!! And the dancers were a perfect touch (beautiful smile Kim). Where Songs Begin was a great follow it brought the crowd down gently after a high energy jam and let us catch our breath. Butterfly wove everyone together like a fine tapestry IMHO this was the highlight tune of the night. And what needs to be said about a 4 song, 32 minute encore?? After Elko, everyone walked out with a spring in their steps, what a great way to kick off 2006. Great New Years run for the Railroad. Great crowd, very nice recording thanks for getting this up so soon. Cant wait for the 2006 tour to swing back east. Peace Be Well all.
